The team created several virtual backgrounds that my company uses for all Microsoft Teams video calls. The 2D visual in my cameras background truly looks like I am in a conference room or an office. We are happy to partner with the VirtualOffice team. The backgrounds are really well made, High Res, and look natural. I really love them as an Ice breaker for my meetings. Guides, Tips and FAQs. What is a virtual background for Zoom, Teams, Meet, Etc? Can I use my office background without a green screen?

You don't need any special equipment to use your Branded Virtual Office. All you need is a plain wall or another surface like a curtain of a single color. How to use your Branded Virtual Office Background. Before you start, check that your system is supported by Zoom, Teams, Meet, Skype, or any other video meeting platform that you want to use.

Position your camera so you have a solid, single-color background. Hosts can even use their own video as an Immersive View scene, bringing participants into their personal virtual background. To learn more about how to enable Immersive View for users or groups in your account, please visit our support article.

When Immersive View is enabled, those on Zoom desktop and mobile apps that do not support Immersive View will continue to see other meeting participants in either Gallery View or Speaker View, just with a simple black background. Others in the meeting will still view these unsupported participants in the Immersive View scene with their original backgrounds.

Then when I "Place participants into view" Manually, I see their names in a small box where I can x-them out if I don't want them in the view on-screen.

The problem is that my name, as host, does not show up in this list to x-out. I tried starting the immersive view anyway and my video square was not able to be x'd out or dragged out of the immersive view. This only happens when I use a custom immersive scene. When I use the defaults, I am able to remove my video from the Immersive view.

Hi ScottP , I see what you mean. I would assume this is just a limitation of Immersive Views, since only the host can start this view, but can understand your use case and that it's odd that the limitation is only for the custom option. I'd suggest submitting some feedback about that so that our teams can evaluate that and consider changing that logic to allow the host to be hidden.

How to Use Zoom Immersive View for a Virtual Meeting

Participants that are placed on the scene that do not meet the Virtual Background system requirements are displayed with a circular frame around them while their video profile images are displayed as a ring around them.

The Immersive View is terminated when screen sharing is performed and replaced by the shared screen. If you stop sharing, you will find that the Immersive View returns to the same positions as before.

As of right now, only local recordings of Immersive Views are supported. If you choose Immersive View, you will only be able to see the immersive scene at the time of viewing, not the thumbnails of other videos. Recordings on the cloud will either be displayed as a Gallery layout or a Speaker layout, depending on the recording settings on the cloud. Note: Immersive View can also be used by mobile apps, but the user will need to start it on their desktop client in order for it to work.

Note: All other types of accounts are disabled by default. The setting is enabled by default for Free accounts and individual Pro accounts.

There is also the option of uploading a custom scene if the standard set of scenes does not meet your needs. A custom scene does not have predefined spaces, so participants will need to be manually placed by the host, since there are no predefined spaces.

As for best results, custom backgrounds need to match the file type and resolution of virtual background images for the best results. It is necessary to place extra participants above the immersive scene when predefined locations are filled, all the participants are not picked for the scene, or late attendees are present.

This feature is great in the case of seating charts and any sort of ordering requirements. You can also disable auto-population in the settings and place the attendees in the scene all by yourself if need be. Since the host has the most power in immersive features, they can also control the size of the participants as per the need of the meeting.

This can be done to make space for late arrivals or customize the participants as per hierarchy. Zoom Immersive view has been enabled on all free and single Pro accounts that use Zoom 5.

You can enable it on web portals for all the other account types. In addition, the immersive view feature is available for Windows 10 and iOS desktop clients all over. Those who are on desktops or use mobile apps not supporting immersive view will see the participants in a gallery or speaker view with a black background.

Others in the meeting, who have this new feature, will only see those participants as part of the Immersive View background. When you share your screen on Zoom Meetings , the immersive view will be replaced by the screen.

The immersive view will occupy the screen as soon as the screen sharing stops. During a webinar, the host can arrange for the panelists and the host to be present in the immersive view on the virtual background. The attendees will just be viewing the scene with panelists and the host on the virtual background.

The recording of immersive view is not supported by the software yet. Cloud and local recordings will depend on the cloud recording settings. In recordings, the view will most likely either be speaker or gallery view, depending on the settings used before immersive view. Immersive view by Zoom is a cool new feature introduced by the video-conferencing giant. However, there are significant limitations to this immersive meetings feature.

Users of an older Zoom version will probably see all meeting participants with black backgrounds or gallery boxes. As a result, one colleague can be sitting in a plush virtual conference room, and another colleague can be observing colleagues on a screen in boxes.

Microsoft and Skype, two major competitors for Zoom, launched their own versions of immersive meetings in ! For better placements and meetings, Microsoft Teams and Skype also employ computer vision features to cut out faces and shoulders.

31 Zoom Backgrounds + How to Change your Virtual Zoom Background.

Sometimes we all just need to think outside the video box once in a while. Announced at Zoomtopia , Immersive View allows hosts to arrange video participants and webinar panelists into a single virtual background, bringing people together into one scene to connect and collaborate in a cohesive virtual meeting space.

When enabling Immersive View, hosts will have the option to automatically or manually place participants into a virtual scene of their choosing. Want to change things up? Hosts can easily change the scene or revert back to Speaker or Gallery View at any time.

Our current scenes can accommodate up to 25 participants in a scene, with various layouts for smaller groups. A number on each scene tile indicates how many people it can accommodate.

We recommend deploying a scene that aligns with the meeting size. Additional participants are displayed in a thumbnail strip on the top of the scene. You still have your available meeting capacity and can host as many participants as you normally would. Another view like Gallery View is recommended for larger meetings. The Immersive View will end and be replaced by the shared screen.

When sharing stops, the Immersive View will begin again with the same positions as before. When using Immersive View in a webinar, the host and panelists will be placed together onto the virtual background, while webinar attendees view the scene.

Recording of Immersive View is not yet supported. Cloud and local recordings will appear as Gallery or Speaker View, depending on cloud recording settings or which was used before Immersive View is started for local recordings.
